2. Has to be dedicated and part of to the Marist community

3. Has to be someone who shows some willingness to initiating things relating to faith or the Marist community

4. Needs to have the right skills in talking to others

5. Must help others in need

6. The person must not be deceased

7. Has to be able to attend the ceremony presenting the Marist of the year award

8. Must be kind to all no matter of race or colour

9. Must have own opinions that will be for the greater good

10. Must have the ability to see good in everyone

11. Must be modest about his or her qualities and actions

12. Must be an honest person

13. The person can be any Can be any age

14. Must make commitments to the wide community

15. Must have inspirational qaulities
